TARLAC CITY — Tarlac State University (TSU) was ranked as the top-performing school in the December 2018 Criminologist Licensure Examination with a passing rate of 98.25 percent, besting 575 other schools in the country.
“We have produced 56 new criminologists out of the 57 graduates who took the examination,” TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari said.
TSU was followed by six other criminology schools with a passing rate of at least 80 percent.
These include King’s College of the Philippines – Bambang with a passing rate of 96.23%, Cavite State University with 95.38%, University of the Cordilleras with 95.24%, King’s College of the Philippines-Benguet with 90.38%, Laguna State Polytechnic University-San Pablo with 86.27%, and Data Center College of the Philippines-Laoag City with 80.28 percent.
“This is the second time it has been named as the top-performing since we opened the program in 2012,” she added.
In November 2016, TSU Board of Regents approved the creation of the College of Criminal Justice Education.
“The whole TSU community is so proud of the achievement of this College. We assure that we will continue to provide the community with professionally competent and morally upright graduates who can deliver efficient and effective services in crime prevention, crime detection and investigation, law enforcement, and the custody and the rehabilitation of offender,” Mallari furthered. – Cherie Joyce V.
