BAGUIO CITY – The city government will bid out the lease and operation of the Crafts and Productivity Center (CPC) at DPS barangay here.

The move to bid out the center is contained in Administrative Order No. 3 series of 2019 creating the Special Bids and Awards Committee to administer the bidding process signed by Mayor Mauricio Domogan recently.

The city’s first attempt to tender the long idle facility in from June to November 2017 did not succeed prompting the mayor to form a new special committee.

City Treasurer Alex Cabarrubias will chair the SBAC with Association of Barangay Council President Councilor Michael Lawana, Dept. of Trade and Industry Cordillera regional director Myrna Pablo, City Accountant Antonio Tabin, Officer-in-Charge City Legal Officer Melchor Carlos Rabanes and General Services Officer Eugene Buyucan as members.

The bidding will be based on the revised terms of reference adopted by the city council through Resolution No. 168 series of 2017.

The terms of reference were agreed to by the CPC tripartite composed of the city government, the DTI-CAR and the ABC.

The site which had been idle for many years was opened as a one-stop center for the bestselling products and crafts of the Cordillera during the first Baguio Creative Festival last November. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
