LABRADOR, Pangasinan, — Securing a land title for a property owned for many years was made easy for the constituents of Labrador town as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Pangasinan signed an agreement with the local government here to hasten the implementation of land titling project.
Labrador Mayor Dominador Arenas signed the memorandum of partnership agreement (MOPA) with DENR Regional Executive Director Reynulfo Juan on Nov. 28 at the municipal hall in this town.
Lawyer Arlyn Katherine Buduhan, officer-in-charge of the Dagupan City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), said the public land titling in partnership with the local government unit is the first step towards government’s commitment for a long-term Land Administration and Management Program.
“DENR Region 1 recognizes the important role of the municipality of Labrador as partner in the conduct of activities and delivery of services to all the constituents of Labrador,” the agreement reads.
Vice Mayor Artemio Arenas said the partnership with DENR will be of a greater help to the constituents of Labrador as they will no longer travel to Dagupan City to transact with CENRO in securing their land tenure.
“Kami po ay nagpapasalamat dahil malaking tulong sa amin ito (public land titling project),” the vice mayor said. (JNPD/EMBS/PIA-1, Pangasinan)
